The God of 2025

Ha! 2025
We finally draw the curtain and say our Goodbyes, and perhaps Thank you
We saw the Joy, Peace, Goodness, and hope you carried
We opened our hearts to receive you
One thing you assured us was the rollercoaster of emotions we will go through.
Yet our God of 2025 assured us of His unending love.

We started with all hopes, as we always have
We perceived the good, the bad, the ugly, and that which may come after the ugly.
We encouraged ourselves in His word.
We stayed put, looking ahead and doing our best to toe the lines you have purposed for us.
The journey looked amazing, but wasn't an easy one.
The path was filled with goodness, yet it also presented hurdles of growth that required our perseverance, consistency, and total dependence on You, God.

You gave us the goodness
You gave us the opportunities
You gave us the people
You gave us the stories
You gave us the strength
You gave us many ideas
You gave us the many answers we daily searched for
All we sought surrounded us with so much grace and glory
However, we found ourselves at either the beginning or the middle, contemplating whether to reach out for the end.

Our God of 2025,
The Joy was glaring
Yet
The tears were unending
The pain became our story
The struggle was very real
The challenges were becoming a cycle
Giving up became an option, but never a decision we took
Each day, you came in the peace of the night and whispered your presence with us
Every morning, you gave us a reason to be alive
Each afternoon, the sun released your hope, which gave us something to hold on to

Captured our sanity
Our minds were never in the room
The thoughts of not doing our best got us
The thoughts of failure and regret echoed more strongly
The neglect and hurt were serious
Our minds were everywhere
The sanity wasn't working
We carried loads of hurt, pain, anger, disappointment, and questions
We wondered if this was what we saw from the beginning
Yes, we saw the hurdles
The hurdles that were meant to break us for growth
But were these the hurdles meant to break us
The hurdles meant to bud us into beauty
In it all, this pain taught us the need to see, know, and grow with you

You didn't just come as a father this year
You came as a teacher
You came as a leader
You came as a Redeemer
You came as a counsellor
You came as a friend
You came as a judge.
You came as our comfort
You came as our reward.
You came as our saviour
You came as our King of all Kings
You came as I AM
You came as El-Roi.
You came as our guide.
You came as our God of 2025

Our God of 2025
We started with our hearts and emotions leading us, thinking it was You
But you taught us to walk in your spirit
You reminded us that we couldn't live in your light and manifest your fullness without your help.
You taught us that your fruits are not nurtured from birth; rather, you grace us with them.
We can't love until we experience your Love, and you help us to love right
You gave us your heart, your Love, your peace, your Joy, Your Faith, Your Hope,
Our minds had no rest
Our lives were filled with chaos, but you were our peace
You gave us sanity
We never lost it
We never lost ourselves in all of this

You held us through
You taught us
You allowed us to grow
You gave us people to learn from and to be there for
You held our hands and never left us
You reminded us daily of the bigger picture
You allowed us to face all that we had to
You allowed us to be broken for our growth
You allowed us to keep moving
You caught us when we fell
You brought us sanity
You healed our hearts
You gave us a new song
You lit our path

You didn't just give us a beautiful year
You took us through many learnings
You gave us the courage to face our fears
You gave us a blueprint to live a fulfilling life
You allowed us to see our flaws and our weaknesses
You taught us how best to be the best you have always wanted for us
You taught us to have faith in You
You taught us to walk in Your Spirit
You taught us to totally depend on you

Our God of 2025,
The year brought joy, pain, hurt, struggles, and regrets
But you gave us a new sheet to write our story
A story of growth
A story prepared with the spirit of God leading the way
A story where we know it's either with You or with You.

You made it possible for us to encounter, to break, to transform, to learn, to unlearn, and to grow.
Our God of 2025
You gave us you.
And you climaxed the Year with so much grace
Our God of 2025
We no longer face the coming year with fear
We enter 2026 with courage, audacity, growth, and a desire to make the best out of every opportunity you present to us.
