THE GOD OF 2021

2021; the break of a new dawn finally arrived, the breeze of a new season had dawned on us and we owed it to God. Finally everyone was going back to school or work and normal church services plus the daily hustle resumed. The joy of freedom was now a reality.

With our hearts gladdened we lay prostrate before the king of kings to give Him praise and worship. He had been our restorer, strength, hope and Father.

Starting this journey we desired to know Your plans for the new season and with this You unveiled ancient pathways hidden from the eyes of men. Mysteries not received by our forefathers You revealed because you desired us to be more like you.

In our desire to become like You our hunger to dwell and know more of You grew. We desired to understand Your ways and follow Your lead to see that which you have revealed from the beginning manifest.

But in our yearnings, we fell and took the wrong path, yet You never turned Your back on us. When we were unfaithful You were faithful, when we lied You revealed truth, when we lost our path, You became our direction and daily you gave us wisdom to know the right from the wrong. You alone can do this so forever we exalt you (YAHWEH).

We promised You our love, trust and unending faith without doubt hoping the year will be devoid of storms that will consume us, forgetting our walk with You is infused with challenges of which You've made us capable of overcoming.

Days passed by and so did months and the challenges seemed endless. In the heat of these challenges and trials, worry, doubt, bitterness and tears became our daily pill and gradually we forgot Your promises.

But consistent fellowship with Your word gave us room to remind ourselves of Your promises and desire for us. In that moment we realised our pain and struggles weren't meant to last forever but were rather an avenue to connect with You through prayer, worship, supplications and love.

Loving You through it all and knowing all is well with You at the centre, You crowned the year with goodness, overflowed our vats with awesome blessings. Now we have been filled in and out with laughter, our neighbours marvel because You have stood up and defended our case.

Continually we smile knowing that the one we serve is patient in His dealing and will take everyone by surprise in the end.

So we will glorify You and prostrate before our King because as the God of 2021 You have shown your magnificent deeds that awes the earth.
